Warm up
We start off with stretching to help our muscles avoid injuries. It is also a great way for your dancer to understand how their muscles work. We also do a few strengthening exercises on the floor to help our bodies engage before we hop to the barre. In addition, after the barre exercises, we practice various combinations of dance steps across the floor, incorporating different styles and rhythms. This helps build coordination, balance, and flexibility. Moreover, we dedicate time to improving technique through detailed instruction and repetition. This allows dancers to refine their movements and develop precision. Furthermore, we focus on core strengthening exercises to enhance stability and control. This is crucial for executing jumps, turns, and challenging choreography. Lastly, we incorporate conditioning exercises to improve stamina and endurance, ensuring dancers can perform at their best for longer periods. Overall, our comprehensive training regimen combines stretching, strengthening, technique development, and conditioning exercises to provide dancers with a well-rounded and effective training program.
Barre’
In Ballet, we will gracefully head to the ballet barre to meticulously work through plié, tendu, petite battement, and retire. By methodically refining our body positions, we establish a seamless connection with the movements we employ when dancing center floor. Through this dedicated practice at the barre, we cultivate the foundation and discipline necessary to execute exquisite ballet technique.
Center Floor
We head center floor in ballet to work on adagio meaning slow deliberate movements. We use our Tundu to prep for pirouette, plie to push us into pirouette & retire’ to hold our turn. We carefully make our way to the center of the dance floor during our ballet session, with the purpose of focusing on the adagio movements. Adagio signifies a gentle and deliberate pace in dance. To prepare for a pirouette, we employ the Tundu technique. By executing a plie, we generate the necessary force to initiate the pirouette, while enabling us to maintain control. Finally, we gracefully retire, sustaining our turn to complete the sequence. This routine allows us to refine our skills and enhance our performance in ballet.
Across the Floor
The across the floor for ballet uses all the things we learned at the barre’ & center floor to move us across the floor with jump, turns, & kicks. In this practice, dancers apply the techniques and skills acquired during the barre and center floor exercises to gracefully transition across the entire floor, incorporating jumps, turns, and kicks into their movements. The across the floor segment plays a crucial role in developing a dancer’s physicality, dynamics, and artistry. Through this exercise, dancers explore the freedom of movement, showcasing their agility, power, and grace as they traverse the dance studio. By engaging in these dynamic movements, dancers enhance their coordination, balance, and control. Moreover, the across the floor sequence allows dancers to experiment with different styles, tempos, and rhythms, expanding their range of expression and creativity. It is an exhilarating portion of ballet training that pushes dancers to explore their boundaries and reach new heights in their artistry.
We are here for fun & getting better each week. We are dedicated to improving ourselves through these classes. I am constantly filled with pride when I see the accomplishments achieved in these sessions. Our main goal is to enjoy ourselves while making progress.
