FAQ’s

Hi All!

It’s officially recital month!! All of our hard work gets showcased. When is comes to our recital I want you to have all of the information. Plus have it in advance so you can actually use it. 

When is the show? 

May 27th at 3pm

Where is the show? 

It is at Leading Edge Academy.

Where are pictures at? 

Also at Leading Edge Academy. We will be in the lobby taking pictures.  

How do we pay for pictures/video? 

You will pay the photographers. You can pre pay using PayPal bryanmordt@gmail.com or you can pay cash the day of the recital.  

What time do we come for pictures?

Do the dancers need to wear make up? 

Make up is an important part of stage life. It helps your dancers face be visible under the stage lights & to the back of the audience. My would encourage you to at least put mascara, lipstick, & blush on every dancer. Here is a full tutorial of how I do my stage makeup 

How do we do hair for the recital? 

We are doing a low side bun unless your dancers hair is to short. If their hair is short I would like it half up but the goal is for it to be out of their face. I have attached pictures for your reference. 

Where does the hair accessory go? 

If you have a clip then I would like it right above the bun. 

What about tights? 

Tights were included with almost every costume. 

Tan tights for every class except ballet. 

Ballet wears pink.  

Hip hop isn’t wearing tights. 

Opening has fishnet. 

What shoes do we need? 

If your dancer is in ballet they need pink ballet shoes. Unless you have a boy then they are black ballet shoes. If they are in tap then they need their black tap shoes. If they are in Jazz they need their black jazz shoes. If they are in contemporary, opening or closing they need nude foot paws or turners. Hip hop needs white canvas high top sneakers(text me if you need clarification). 

Tech rehearsal?

Tech rehearsal is Friday May 26th from 5-7pm. Your dancers will come in regular dance clothes. Once your dancer is done then you are free to leave. During this rehearsal people save seats for the next day. Please don’t come any earlier that 4:45. We can’t have extra help setting up chairs this time. We are about to out grow this space too! We have to make sure we aren’t over the fire limit for chairs. 

Dress rehearsal 

On May 27th we will be doing dress rehearsal during your picture time slot. It’s an opportunity to see if any of the pieces of your dancers costume need to be safety pinned because they are moving & distracting your dancer. Once your dancer is finished I would encourage you to take them home so they can rest & have something to eat. Everyone will be leaving the school at 1:30. Come back by 2:30. 

Do we have class the week of the recital?

Yes we absolutely do. I want all time I can get to make all the dances the best they can be.

Leading Edge rules

We aren’t allowed to have food or drinks in the gym. Water is allowed. Everyone is leaving the school at 1:30 so they can get lunch & grab anything they forgot. No heels are allowed on the gym floor. If your dancer is in tap shoes please don’t let them run around in them on the gym floor. 

You’re dancers have worked hard to make this recital amazing. I am so excited for this dancer recital! If I didn’t answer your question please don’t hesitate to reach out. I want this recital to go as smoothly as possible for everyone.
